Cigar Bar Humidor Instructions
Features
* Humidity set point controller.
* Full display of cigars.
* Removable serving tray.
* Adjustable storage compartments.
* Continuous air circulation and venting.
* No moving parts/Maintenance free.
* Reduces the mixing of tobacco flavors.
Setup
This humidor is shipped fully assembled and ready to use.
Simply unwrap and remove any packaging material.
* Insert the dividers in the desired location.
* Fill water pan located under the cigar tray with water, to
about 1/4" below the top.
* Plug into any 110 volt outlet.
* Set the desired humidity level on the HUMICON controller.
Operation
Always unplug the power when adding water or cleaning.
* When water is needed the indicator next to the humidity
controller will light.
* To extinguish the indicator light press the red button located
on the left side of the water pan, between the two electric
connections.
Recommendations
* The recommended humidity level is 75% RH but it maybe set to
whatever is individually preferred. Bear in mind humidity
fluctuations will occur depending on ambient conditions. If
fluctuations are noticed leave at set point. The unit will
balance itself.
* If possible use distilled water. This will greatly decrease the
frequency that the water pan will require cleaning.
* When storing a large number of cigars for extended periods
rotate their positions about once a month.
Cautions
Add water indicator is on even though there is water in the pan.
1. Press the small button located on the left side of the water
pan, between the two electrical connections.
Humidor level too low
1. Check the power cord to make sure it is plugged into a working
socket.
2. Never plug the humidor into a socket that is controlled by a
switch. It may be accidentally turned off either periodically or
for extended periods causing the cigars to dry out.
Operating With Partial Capacity of Cigars
The Cigar Bar is designed to operate at maximum capacity and
still function properly when opened frequently. To accomplish
this the design takes advantage of the large volume of space
behind the cigars to store humidity. Once opened the cigar
storage area looses all the humidity keeping the cigars fresh.
This humidity is very quickly replaced by the stored humidity
under the cigar tray. The humidity enters the cigar storage area
through the area above the Humicon controller, the air is checked
for the proper humidity level and is automatically adjusted to
the desired level, if it is too low. Any excess humidity vents
out the slot at the top of the tray.
When the tray has less than one full layer of cigars the humidity level can creep up above the desired set point if the door is not occasionally opened. If this problem is experienced use the unused cigar dividers to cover tray slots which do not have cigars over them. Never use a foreign object to deliberately hold the door partially open to lower the humidity level.
Initially it may come to mind that the cigars on the first layer are seeing humidity in excess of the desired level. However keep in mind that they are only receiving humidity on the bottom side of the cigar from the narrow shelf cut outs.
If the humidity level is measured the area directly above the
Humicon humidity controller will read the highest reading. This
area is in the path of the source of humidity and this reading
generally will read higher than the rest of the humidor. If you
desire to measure humidity level on a hygrometer place it in the
top to bottom center of the compartment either to the left or
right of the humidity controller.
